Hello Dr. Perricone,
The problems started when I was 12 with acne and when I thought I was over acne in my 20's rosacea came knocking. I am now 50 and the only skin care I have been able to use since the diagnosis have been metrogel and finacea. It is very frustrating to have such a sensitive skin and to have to age without the opportunity to use the same products other women use to delay the process. Please let me know if I can help you testing rosacea products. I dream with the day of having a more normal skin. Thank you!

I am so frustrated with my skin and having Rosacea! Everything I've tried irritates my skin and meanwhile I'm growing older. I feel like I can't take advantage of any of the newfangled anti-aging products out there because they will make my face bright red. Would love to test out some of your products!

At 48, suffering from rosacea is extremely embarrassing! Been to the derm, prescribed docyclene, metrogel and finacea. Suffer from redness and heat, but will breakout w/ the pustules at times! It's horrific and painful. I am very sensitive to products and anything can trigger a breakout- using Ceravae moisturizer, a mild soap and every so often a sulfur soap. Have had IPL to reduce the broken capillaries and it has not been that successful. The Cold Plasma sounds wonderful and so do the rest of the products! Just wondering what is the best for this type of highly sensitive skin. I can't use anything which is really disappointing.

I saw a dermatologist many years ago and he told me that the redness in my cheeks, small bumps, cracks and burning were rosacea. He immediately prescribed a medication for me but I chose not to fill it. Instead, I went with a change in diet (low protein and fat) and tried numerous skin care products from estheticians to health food stores.

I think the low protein and fat diet had a powerful impact on me because I became very weak and dropped from about 112 pounds to 90 and my skin probably suffered as a result. It was after I bought 2 of your books that I made changes to my diet and increased my protein and healthy fats. I now feel much stronger, sleep better, have more energy and weigh about 102 pounds (I'm 5'3"). The bumps on my cheeks have almost completely gone away, but the redness, visible veins, and fine cracks are still there likely due to years of using the wrong products and not getting the nutrients I needed. Trying to cover the redness with makeup is almost impossible, and it is extremely embarrassing, especially because I have an olive complexion so the redness really stands out. It is extremely stressful.

I get hopeful each time I try a new product and usually end up disappointed. I really want to try your products because I believe you were right about diet but I just don't know where to begin. I'm reluctant to see another dermatologist who gives me a prescription for medication because I know I won't take it. I prefer to do this with diet, supplements and topical applications. I would like to be able to test your products first in whatever way that could be done and if they work, you will have a faithful user for life.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I have been suffering with the occasional redness on my face for a couple of years. My face would look like it was sunburned. I had to cover up with lots of heavy makeup and it felt awful. Finally made the appointment to see my doctor when I couldn't stand it anymore.

The doctor gave me 2 different perscriptions for gels and ointments. They seemed to work but it took weeks to see any results and my face still had to be covered with makeup to hide the redness. I bought Shielo's Complexion Moisturizer after reading some of the reviews and decided this would be cheaper than another doctor visit plus the cost of more of the same expensive creams. I gave it a shot.

Boy, was I surprised. The burning stopped with the very first application and the redness was greatly reduced overnight. I no longer have the dryness that the other ointments caused.

After just 2 or 3 days, my face was back to normal and even my husband was amazed at the quick improvement. Keeping it on hand for flare ups.
