Finding the Best Anti Wrinkle Cream for Combination Skin

When it comes to skin types, people with combination skin have the best and worst of both worlds. The most common of the skin types, combination skin shows symptoms of both dry and oily skin. This means that using a product for just oily skin or just dry skin will only work for parts of your skin.

Read on to learn more about combination skin and how to live peacefully with it using one of Dr. Perricone’s best anti wrinkle creams.

Why Do You Have Combination Skin?

Combination skin arises because of various reasons. Many people experience skin changes several times in their life; the most common reason for combination skin is because of an early change from oily adolescent skin to drier combination skin as age increases. Continually as you age, your skin transforms and it usually gets increasingly drier.

The reason for increasingly dry skin is the decreased production of oil in the sebaceous glands, which are microscopic glands crucial for keeping skin and hair lubricated. As you age, oil levels lower particularly on the face due to these changes.

Besides hormonal changes, the environment, age, stress, and changing of seasons can also result in combination skin. This is why it is important to assess skin regularly, especially between seasons since summer skin care is much different than winter skin care.

How to Deal with Combination Skin

Combination skin is considered by many to be the toughest skin type to deal with because of the opposing skin characteristics. The majority of people with this skin type have what is called a T-zone area, where the area across the forehead and down the center of the face is oily and the rest of the face is dry.

Many people try products meant for oily skin but end up with too dry skin while others use products for dry skin and end up with breakouts. Combination skin requires gentle oil control in certain areas as well as extra moisture in other parts to ensure even healthy skin.

The frustration of dealing with combination skin can be aided with these steps to balance your dual minded skin:

  • Use sunscreen
  • Avoid strongest sun hours (varies, but usually noon to 3 pm)
  • Quit smoking
  • Use an anti wrinkle cream
  • Take short lukewarm showers
  • Eat a diet high essential oils found in fish as well as olive oil
  • Manage your stress levels

  1. I am 28 years old but I do not have wrinkles (the last time I checked that is!) I have combination skin, oily on the tzones, dry cheeks. I chose Made from Earth Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum because of the good reviews I saw from different online sites. They say it is easier to prevent wrinkles than actually curing them when you get it. I wash my face first before putting the serum.

I have used the Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum for almost two weeks and I have not experienced any rashes, breakouts or red spots. I have no complaints at all. I would use their Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer also but I think I have to finish up my Oil of Olay stash first. I will definitely use more Made from Earth products.

    Thank you!

  4. Good morning!
I am now 43 years old and I have sun damaged skin (wrinkles, sun spots, enlarged pores). I also have combination skin so there are a lot of products that make me brake out. I really want to find something that will help my skin look better! Please help me!

  5. great post, i have always wondering whats the best anti wrinkle cream. I have tested Dr. Perricone’s Cold Plasma and i completely agree that’s one of the best cream. I highly recommend this for everyone.

  6. I’m 53 and have had acne and oily skin in the T-zone area since I was twelve. I bought the Clear Skin Kit after seeing Dr. Perricone speak on the Dr. Oz Show and was astounded to find my acne under control for the first time in 40 years.

The sales person at Sephora was kind enough to give me samples of Cold Plasma and Acyl-Glutathione which I have been using for the past two weeks. The results have been amazing. I’m definitely saving up to buy those two products.

My 24-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son have also been started on Perricone products. My daughter had gone through treatment with Accutane only to have her acne return and she was taking antibiotics to control breakouts. After starting on the Perricone regiment, she was able to stop taking the antibiotics and her skin has greatly improved.
