Are There Any DMAE Side Effects?

DMAE is naturally produced in the body to maintain brain and body health, but taking too much DMAE in supplement form can cause side effects.

Taking more than the recommended amount can cause DMAE side effects like:

The healthy recommended dose of DMAE is between 100-300 mg. However people should start taking DMAE at the lowest dose directed, then increase the amount with time.

People with schizophrenia, epilepsy, and manic depression should not take DMAE supplements. However, DMAE can help people with Attention Deficit Disorder, autism, memory deficiency, dementia, and depression. Increased doses of DMAE block the acetylcholine receptors, which allows more dopamine to be released.

DMAE supplements can help improve many brain functions and can even make skin healthier. DMAE can tighten and tone skin while reducing wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots. DMAE has also been linked to helping with weight loss.

DMAE has a number of benefits:

  • Increases memory, concentration, and cognitive learning
  • Improves alertness and energy
  • Decreases anxiety
  • Boosts dopamine effects
  • Contours, tightens, and tones skin
  • Reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

Dr. Perricone has a line of supplements for beautiful skin, energy and mood, total health, and weight management.

His DMAE supplement is one of his total health supplements. This supplement provides a safe daily amount of DMAE.

One 75 mg pill (1 serving) should be taken twice a day with meals. Taking 2 pills a day is a healthy amount of DMAE to experience benefits without DMAE side effects.

  1. I AM VERY CONCERN ABOUT MY BEAUTY SKIN CARW. iPREFER TO TRY MEASURES ESPECIALLY UNDER YOUR GUUIDANCE.

    THANKS FOR KEEP US INFORMED.

  2. I am 2 years shy of 60 and would value the opportunity to become a tester of your products.

  3. I’ve just started taking DMAE pills a week ago and not sure if any difference yet. From all I have read on it I feel it will be a boost to my system. My only concern is any side effects.

  4. After reading quite a bit, it seems that all negative side affects are related to taking more than the recommended amount. Taken properly, it sounds well worth a test. I’d like to minimize wrinkles on my face; and also, reverse the “brain fog” that sometimes crops up; as well as a slowing in memory and recall.

  5. I’ve been blessed with great skin but now that I’m on the shy side of 60, I could use some professional help. My primary issues involve (a)crows feet and (b)skin texture. I prefer to try natural measures, especially under your guidance.

  6. I have been taking DMAE supplents for two years now to help with ADHD. I was prescribed 40 milligrams of adderrall before I started taking the DMAE. The adderrall was very effective in treating ADHD, but after awhile the medication felt toxic and my anxiety levels rose. I decided to try DMAE instead of prescription medication and I am very pleased. My concentration levels have increased, and I am in a much better mood than I was on adderrall. There is no anxiety and I can go to sleep better at night. The adderrall made my skin oily and break out, but since taking the DMAE it is clear and beautiful. I am maintaining a healthy weight with DMAE as opposed to being underweight on adderrall. Overall I feel much healthier, happier, and smarter on DMAE!

  7. I’m 36 years old and I feel that I’m in my 50′s already by looking at my skin and my face, I already have really bad dark circle under my eyes, and some wrinkle all over my face. I think if I had the opportunity to become a tester for this product it will help people my age who feel the same way.

  8. I have used the 3 skin supplements for years (esterC, DMAE and alphalipoic acid), but recently i’ve run out of esterc and DMAE. I notice a double chin and even more annoying, circular growth on the right side of my neck in the double chin area… i’d be a little more concerned but i’ve noticed on others, include mick jagger from the grammys, BUT, I know how to get rid of it… will be getting my DMAE/EsterC soon. my chin line is much more defined when i use these products. would love to be a tester, but will probably be able to tell if i’m getting the placebo.

  9. I just started on the Perricone regime again after 5 years off. I started in my early 40s and am now 50 and am really starting to see facial sagging.

I immediately noticed that after taking the DMAE I was not having the fatigue and fogginess issues I’ve been fighting for the past couple of years (perhaps from hormonal changes).

My father (86) is having major short term memory issues, although long term memory is intact. He is also on high blood pressure medicine and statins. Would it be safe for him to try DMAE for memory or would it interfere with either his blood pressure or statin medications.

Most doctors simply tell you not to take any supplements, so it’s hard to find out what is safe to take with prescriptions and what can cause problems.

    Thanks.

  10. I’m 45 and have Rheumatoid arthritis, which is an inflammatory disease, and very much so in my case. I have a bit of ADHD and an aging, blemished face. I’m a bit over weight and my overall system could use some help. I hear that DMAE can help with sore joints, depression, adhd, wrinkles and memory. I would love to be a candidate to try Dr. Perricone’s Skin care products, as I also have a four year old and I’m often mistaken for Grandma, instead of Mom. I’m considering the oral supplement after viewing Dr. Oz’s show on which Dr. Perricone appeared.

  11. Hello from Texas. I will be 65 this year and although I don’t feel that I have a lot of wrinkles, I have little elasticity along the jaw line. I too have some memory issues but just attributed it to age. I do try to watch what I eat, I exercise, and do take some supplements. I would love to become a tester for Dr. Perricone.
    Thank You!

  12. I am 40 and have discovered that I have ADD plus after being given the painkiller Dilotid (sp) while I was in the emergency room about 4 years ago, I have noticed a huge difference (decline) in my memory – mainly short-term – but enough that it made me question it and discover the ADD!

I also have general allover sagging starting- makes me look tired. I have wrinkles as well – fine lines around the eyes mostly. Considering my sun and saltwater exposure over the years, I have pretty good skin, but it could be better! I would love to be able to test out the DMAE products!

  13. My body and mind are a mess. I have tried so many different drugs and now I am trying to find more natural solutions. Unfortunately, due to financial issues, I have to do all on my own. So, I would appreciate being a Perricone Tester. Hopefully, I can find something to help me.
